Medical Courier

Blue Diamonds Integrated is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Contract Medical Courier to transport medical specimens, lab samples, supplies, and documents between healthcare facilities, laboratories, and clinics throughout the Houston area. This role is essential to ensuring timely, safe, and compliant delivery that directly supports patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Pick up and deliver medical specimens, lab samples, medical records, and supplies across Houston and surrounding areas

• Follow all HIPAA and confidentiality regulations when handling sensitive materials

• Ensure proper handling, labeling, and transport conditions (including temperature control when required)

• Maintain accurate delivery logs, chain-of-custody documentation, and route records

• Plan efficient delivery routes using GPS/navigation tools to meet strict deadlines

• Communicate effectively with dispatch, labs, and healthcare staff regarding delivery status

• Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report maintenance needs

• Adhere to all local, state, and federal transportation and safety regulations

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Valid Texas driver’s license with a clean driving record

• Reliable personal vehicle and current auto insurance (required)

• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening

• Strong time management and organizational skills

• Excellent communication and customer service abilities

• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior courier, delivery, or healthcare logistics experience

• Knowledge of medical terminology or specimen handling procedures

• Familiarity with Houston roads, highways, and surrounding areas (Katy, Sugar Land, The Woodlands, etc.)

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry 25–50 pounds

• Comfortable working in varying weather conditions

• Ability to sit and drive for extended periods

Compensation

• Competitive contract pay (per route, per delivery, or daily rate)

Contractor Requirements

• Must operate as an independent contractor (1099)

• Must provide own smartphone for communication and route tracking
